Easter spirit

Well im always so late with my posts but i really don't have enough time to write :(
My mother sent me a picture of her Easter eggs. Only basket of eggs remind me and bring me back all memories for last 16 years. Spending time with family at grandparents house with nice food, watching TV together, playing with each other or just helping grandmother to do Easter decoration on the table, etc.
These are things which are so important because we are learning how to be happy with a simple and little things as well as spending time with family.
This is my first year that i didn't spend Easter with my family. I was little bit sad because my mother sent me a picture of her Easter eggs that she painted on 19. April.
I remember that one day before Eastern celebration my mother and me are painting eggs together.
Now i will post a picture that my mother sent to me. I think only me and chocolate bunny are missing. hehe
Dodaj naslov
Also i will show You some pictures what food we usually eat for Easter .
In Malaysia i just went on lunch with my friends Andre,Stella (my AFS best friends and exchange students from Germany) and my Malaysian best friend John. We went in buterfly garden on Penang island, on the beach and in shopping mall on our Easter lunch. It was amazing . Thank You.
hehe this is a picture that my mother sent to me . I love it. Thanks mom.

All people are not the same

I'm not sure i already said that or not, my chapter leader is working at my school as a music teacher so with him all last week we were practising few dances for one wedding. I wasn't so good as my friends so i take part only in 3 dances other 3 i was just watching. Well  i guess,I'm not so talented....
First i would love to say something about rules here if you want to merry Malay person. If you are same religion that means if you are Muslim i guess for you all ceremony and things before wedding and after is piece of cake. In Malaysia because of 3 races (Indian, Malay and Chinese) there is a sentence "Selam satu Malaysia", well i guess all races should live in piece , have same opportunities, ONE MALAYSIA without any discrimination. In Malaysia there is a rule if you want to marry Muslim men\woman and you are different religion you must convert to Islam. I don't agree with that at all. My country as a Islamic country don't have rule like that. First of all my parents are different religion and it's totally normal to mix with other. Also if there is one Malaysia why people must convert? why person who want to merry Malay woman\men don't have same rights? Why if we want to apply for something there must be "Write your race"? Who actually cares about that? Why in my country i don't need to write my religion or race? Okay religion maybe when i need to apply for the school just because of they want to know what celebrations i celebrate because obviously i'm gonna miss my school. I don't like to see fresh converted men\woman who is using Islamic sentences if you know what i mean. Also what i dont like is men\woman must choose one Muslim name. Why? My name is not good enough. There is so many examples about discrimination, but i won't talk about that anymore i become very upset every time.. Also to people who are planing to judge me i really don't care becuase this is my opinion and i can say that as a half Muslim. Piece..

My family usually brought me on "kampong" weddings so this is first time that i see one big "urban". Most of ladies were in the short and open dresses. Not polite at all if it's Muslim wedding. Other people are quite okay. This is my first time that i see really nice wedding dress, on all "kampong" weddings that i have been wedding dress is really pink, purple or light blue hmmmm.... also groom my dressed in malay traditional clothes same color as wedding dress. It's okay if groom decided to wear traditional clothes but that can be more into fashion or he can find the one that is more nicer then pink, purple or light blue i'm sure.
For that wedding bride's wedding dress was tipical Europian\American, big white wedding dress (i prefer color between yellow and white) and groom had black suit. It was okay for one Malay couple. :)
These are some pictures of me dancing ... i'm not talented i know.
heheheh :)

<3 :)

im on the stage with blue skirt and pink traditional shirt. i hate that clothes it's so ugly but what to do i didnt choose.

Seventeen

Tomorrow is my 17th birthday, and i honestly can't believe it. Like wow. But what is even more amazing is thinking about where i was at this time when i turned 16 . I was at first year of high school , stressing about my biology final, wondering what next year would bring, not even thinking that coming to Malaysia would be in the cards. I think that just goes to show ho quickly things can change. I mean,I guess this wasn't a very quick change but it is still very drastic. But anyway, in my mind 17 is kinda big deal and just for some reason is seems like 17 is just SO much elder then 16 even thought it really isn't. It's not like tomorrow i'm going to wake up and look totally different (well, i hope so), i'm not going to feel any different probably, or act any differently. Which makes me wonder why our society today makes such a big deal about birthdays. Like" You lived another year! Congrats, let's give you a present for doing absolutely nothing besides getting older which is something everyone does!" Don't get me wrong,i love birthdays.
This year it's going to be weird celebrating without family members and friends. But it's my exchange year so i already get use on different stuff.
So, a side note. I actually did write this post a week ago before my birthday.
Maybe a little i regret what i said before week ago because for these 17 years this was my the best birthday celebration ever.
Ususally like any other day im planing to wake up early in the morning maybe around 7 or 8 am. For my birthday i woke up at 10 am. To be honest i was too excited that is why i didnt sleep at all during the night!
Excited? Yes exactly, excited. Why? First i want to say i have the best host family and the best classmates ever. My best friends from the school made birthday party together with my host family.
They organized everything, it was just so nice. Girls they do my hair, rest of my friends came and then we spent time with each other. These are some pictures from my b-day :-)
I also invited my 3 friends from my first school. Thanks everyone especially John,Avik and Saarania,Malay girls and my host family. I love you all!

Gong hey fat choy! Happy Chinese New Year!

I guess i will say this in every post, i'm very late with my posts that's why im writing about Chinese New Year now. Okay so let's start. :-)
Chinese New Year is a traditional and very important Chinese holiday. It was originally a festival to honor ancestors as well as holy or sacred beings. It was also known as Spring Festival, which is literal translation from the Chinese name. I want to give you some interesting facts about Chinese New Year than i will start my experience.

1.The 15-day  festival, which starts on January 31 this year, is based on a combination of lunar and solar movements. It starts with first new moon of each calendar year and ends on the full moon.

2.Food is big part of Chinese New Year celebration, and many meals are eaten, with family and friends.

3. Homes are cleaned top to bottom before the beginning of the new year and all cleaning  equipment is put away before New Year's Eve  becuase it is believed that good fortune may be swept  away if cleaning is done on New Year's Day.

4.Before Chinese New Year's Day  homes are decorated with trayals of oranges,a candy tray with eight kinds of dried sweet fruits, and live plants and vases of fresh flowers. Wishes for the new year are written on the red paper

5. Firecrackers are set off on New Year's Eve to send out the old year and welcome in the new.

6. This year will mark the beginning of the Year of Horse: this animal signifies suprises in adventure and romance, and people bornu during this year are believed to be good communicators, kind, talkactive, independent and impatient.

Okay so let me start my experience of Chinese New Year. My amazing 6 days i spent with my music teacher. And now im richer for 4 sisters (one sister i already met on my second day in Malaysia), father and mother,2 grandmothers and around 5 uncles and i don't knw how many kids. Nice right?
I share my room with 2 sisters. i was too tired ( i went on pongal celebration in our school) i went to rest in the living room i guess. After that my Chinese family started explaining me about Chinese New Year and what type of food and other stuff we will do together. Before i came they already sweep the floor and clean all house. I did  some cool stuff with grandmother like making toys of paper for a plants outside in different shape of animals. After that i hang tham with my little sister.
At the midnight we went on full prayers in one temple after that we went in the main temple in our city.(i will show you a pictures) because at midnight main temple was really full. For people who are reading this and they never experience Chinese New Year maybe they can't imagine how amazing is to celebrate. i felt amazing, very different and everything around me was red and so bright. I also like nice smell of sticks in the  temple.
Next day was really special they teach me how to say "Happy Chinese New Year" on Chinese language. it's  "Gong hey fat choy". Some people will call the lion in the house and than the lion will dance in front and inside the house also big drum always follow. We went to see that. Thay warned me that around 50 counsins will come today. I thought they are kidding. But it was like that.I met so many people we took so many pictures together. That day i become very close to my elder sister, we share our own secrets and after that i knew it i will be far away from her and she must go on university in Kuala Lumpur. i got so many angpaos (red envelope) from counsins :) Last day we had celebration on Penang island with our school. My Chinese family follow on Penang island and i was with elder sister all the time together. I learn how to Chinese calligraphy with brush.I listen Chinese traditional music and saw so many dances and lion dance.
Now i will let you to see some pictures of Chinese New Year and from Chinese celebration on Penang island.
