First i want to say i am very sorry because i didn't post anything for a long time. I am very busy with my school so i dont have a lot of time for this. But i promise i will do it after Chinese New Year :)
Now i must prepare for tomorrow, I'm going in school on Pongal festival, i got invitation card from the schoool. Actually in Tamil language Pongal means "overflowing" which signifies abundance and prosperity...
Well next week i will have enough time to write about my trip in Indonesia,Singapore, about Indian celebrations (Thaipusam and Pongal) and also about Chinese New Year

Indonesia
I decided to write this post so that i could lock my memories on my trip to Medan into words before my memories towards Medan feded and eventually vanished.
Well my trip to Medan started with the flight departing from Penang airport to International Airport in Medan. It took about 55 minutes to touchdown Medan.Well my first impression on Medan minutes before the plane landed was that Medan had alot of agricultural lands as i could see acres of greens treching miles ahead. Finally i was out of plane. Then, came the process of immigration clearance. Well i was the "lucky" one to be chosen to scan all ten of my fingerprints.
After collecting our luggages we dearted to Lake Toba. We headed straight to Lake Toba to catch the last ferry to Tomok,Samosir Island. The sceneries along the was was beautiful where we could see the beautiful Lake. We reached Ajibata pier in the evening for the ferry. Nature around the Lake Tobe is beautiful and volcano is very near, actually volacno is just around the Lake Toba. Lake is 100 km long and 1,666 ft deep. It is a largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world. We stayed in one hotel just near the Lake. We visited some places there (which You can see from the picture).
We departed to Berastagi at Karo Highlands. On the way we stopped at one restaurant for a ginger tea and fried bananas. Next we stopped at Sipiso Piso Waterfall which is 110 m tall. One day we went in city center of Medan, my opinion is that Indonesia is very dirty. In city center i went to ride a horse for the first time in my life it was amazing experience. Also i can't remember name of places that we visited but i would love to post a pictures :)

Pongal festival
My friends from school invited me on Pongal festival at our school. I wear my Indian dress. So let's start with this celebration.
Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated by Tamil people at the end of the harvest season.
In Tamil word Pongal means"overflowing" which signifies abundance and prosperity. On the day of Pongal,at the time of sun rise there is a symbolic ritual of boiling fresh milk in a new clay pots and when the milk bolis over and bubbles out of the vassel, people shout "Pongalo Pongal".
That is exactly what happened. Indian students were in few groups. After they prepare Pongal, they do little competition in Kolam (is a form of painting that is drawn by using rice , usually it's on the floor). Also some students performed dances and music. It was very nice becuase they all dressed Indian traditional clothes.
Dear friends thank you for invited me, it was memorable. Pongal is so delicious :)
